Joy’s legacy is that she taught me two very valuable lessons. I adopted her as a very young puppy, and I realized that we have been through a lot together in the past 13 years. She has helped me through the deaths of both my parents, selling their house and my house in North Carolina, packing everything, buying two properties in Loveland, and riding in my crew cab for 1600 miles to get to Loveland! On good days and bad days, she was my constant friendly face, and fluffy hug without judgment. She also taught me to leave the bad days’ emotions at the front door. Dogs are so focused on their humans that you don’t have to say a word in front of them…they know your mood, and many dogs take those moods personally. After so many years of trying hard to not bring bad thoughts into the house, she has helped me become a happier person. We’ve all heard the saying that “DOG is GOD spelled backward for a good reason.” I believe no truer words were ever written. Thank you, Joy…for everything.
